Resource Management:
Centralized Passwords
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software stores each credential/password only once, with each resource linking to whatever password is used. This is incredibly useful when passwords change– instead of changing dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of resources, you just change the one password entry.

Keep your resources organized neatly in groups that make sense to you– such as physical locations, departments, etc.
Multi-select editing
isimSoftware, as of 5.0, now supports multi-select editing. This lets you easily change values on multiple resources at once. Simply select the resources you’d like to edit using shift+click or ctrl+click, and then right click->edit resources!
Resource Discovery
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software includes a Resource Discovery Wizard, which enables you to scan your network(via Active Directory) for hosts, and then scan those hosts for resources to monitor. The wizard lets you easily pick which computers on your network to probe and which services, disks, event logs, etc. to create resources for.
Display
View resources by group, resource type, and then further grouped by host/machine, resourcetype, status, or no grouping at all.

SQLite database
isimSoftware, by default, uses a high performance local database, using the industry standard ‘SQLite’ database engine.
MSSQL database support
isimSoftware, as of 5.0, now supports using Microsoft SQL for its database. This can be useful for those with very large data needs, or simply those who want easier access to the database for their own reporting purposes.
Easy Backup and Restore
Using the new Backup and Restore Wizard, backing up your entire configuration and history data is very easy. Restoring is just as easy. Backup files are single file backups that can easily be moved around, sent via Email, etc.

Schedules

Monitoring Exceptions
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software can be configured to not monitor during defined time frames, such as maintenance periods. This can be done easily on a recurring basis, or one-time basis. All exceptions can be easily viewed in calendar format.

Notifications
The critical part of detecting an error, is notifying the appropriate person. isimSoftware Network Monitor Software supports notifying system administrators via Email or text message(SMS). This can be done once specific thresholds are reached. Notifications can be sent to one or more Email addresses/phone numbers, by using a notification group. Notification groups can easily be edited later to add a new person to the list that gets notified, without editing each resource.

Notification Groups
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software lets you tag a notification group to each resource. This enables you to define multiple people that get notified when something goes wrong with that resource. You can then easily change notification groups without having to edit each and every resource.
Notification Thresholds
Define when notifications are sent(i.e. resource down more than 10 minutes), how often(if at all) notifications are re-sent, when(and if) to stop sending notifications, and send a notification when the resource recovers.
Custom Text
Customize the subject and body of any notifications sent via Email or text message.
Notification Limits
Setup global limits per Email or cell phone#, preventing overages or floods when many resources are offline at once.
Resource Dependencies
Any resource can be configured to depend on any other resource. This prevents polling that is guaranteed to fail, and can be used to prevent excessive notifications when a critical dependent resource is down– you can receive notification for just the critical resource, instead of every resource that depends on it as well.
Reporting
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software provides reporting capabilities, so you can easily provide your managers, customers, or yourself with reports showing the availability and incident history of your resources. Reports can easily be run for individual resources, or entire groups of resources.
Reports in isimSoftware Network Monitor Software can easily be exported to multiple formats, including PDF, HTML, Excel, RTF, TXT, CSV, image file, and more. Export can be directly to Email, for ease of use. Printing is also possible, along with support for adding a watermark, if desired.
Availability Report
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software provides a full resource availability report. This can be useful to determine the uptime numbers for service-level-agreement reporting. The availability report lists each resource, grouped by interval(hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly), the total downtime experienced in hours/minutes/seconds, the downtime %, and the uptime %.

Incidents Report
isimSoftware Network Monitor Software provides a full incidents report. This can be useful to determine what incidents occurred in a specific date/time frame. Each incident in the timeframe is listed, with the initial failure time, recovery time, and the amount of downtime. Incidents are grouped based on resource, if you have multiple resources in your report.
